Packing

Well today is big decision day do I take my hair straighteners or not! Gotta get my bag packed or at least some of it as I will be busy over the next 2 days. The hardest thing is not deciding what to take but rather what to leave out when it is over my baggage allowance. In the old days you could cram all your heavy stuff into your hand luggage and try to walk like it was not weighing you down but now even that has a weight limit.
Everyone asks me what the weather will be like in Australia when I get there and the answer to that is as it will be Autumn it will be changeable so I have to pack for all weathers more or less.
Even keeping my hand luggage within the weight allowance will be difficult what with my laptop with its cables and all the chargers I need to take for my phone, camera, Nintendo DS and MP3 Player. Last time I traveled any distance it was much easier cos none of this stuff was around so spare jeans and underwear and I was away. Sometimes all these convenient luxuries we have become used to seem like an inconvenience. Oh well best get to it.

Keeping in Touch

Well I'm counting down the days now and making plans for ways to keep in touch with home. So I've ordered me a little web cam to take with me and arranged with my mobile phone company to sign up to their "now you can phone home from abroad at only 75p more than your usual rate for each call" rate. So no excuse not to keep in touch. And I will, of course be putting stuff on here so that those who may worry can keep an eye on me.

Booking Tickets

Well what a palavar- booking tickets for the Australian Rules Anzac Day Football match. This is the biggest match of the year and we really want to be there but when you get 2 minutes 2 get all your details typed in before time runs out and they give the tickets to someone else does rather cause one to panic and make mistakes. But did it in the end. Now having booked this and tickets to go see Miss Saigon we do have at least 2 good things sorted.

Getting Ready

Hi Two weeks to go to my trip so levels of excitement are rising. Not much to say at this stage except that once I arrive in Australia you might wanna keep an eye on this blog to see how I get on and how these 2 Picardians go mad down under.
